Lagos

Bana gore Algarve’in iki yuzu var. Vahsi Bati ve Olü Merkez diye ikiye ayriliyor. Vahsi bati ucsuz bucaksiz plajlari, sessiz ve el degmemis karakteri, olabildigince az turist kafilesinden uzakta kendinizi dinlemenize olanak saglarken, bana gore coktan ölmüs olan Lagos yogun gece hayati, tiklik tiklim olan sehir merkezi ve plajlariyla hic bir sey yapmaniza gerek kalmadan kendiliginden yoruyor insani. Yine de plajlarinin buyulu guzelligine aldanip donmeden once bir gunumuzu burada gecirmeye karar veriyoruz.

To me, Algarve has two faces; Wild West and Dead Center. While Wild West (includes Sagres) is giving you a real chance to rest and enjoy your precious summer moments, the “already” dead center.  Lagos, is enough to tucker you because of the endless parties, the crowds of hangovers and many tourists walking around the white cute cobbled streets. Still, we are falling for the charming beaches and believe these beauties deserve one night to sacrifice in the city of parties, Lagos.

Praia Dona Ana  ‘ya sehir merkezinden sahil yolunu izleyerek variyoruz. Lagos’un en bilindik ve ulasimi en kolay plajlarindan birisi. Buradaki plajlara hep tepeden ulasiyorsunuz haliyle gordugunuz muhtesem manzaradan sonra cabucak asagiya inip kendinizi serin sulara atmak istiyorsunuz. E o zaman ne bekliyorsunuz?  Eger sizlerde bizim gibi sessizlik ve sakinlik taraftariysaniz, havlunuzu atacak yer bulamadan once, sabah erken saatlerde gelip herkeslerden once bu cennetin tadini cikartin derim.

Praia Dona Ana   is one of the well known beach of Lagos. Also, it’s one of the easiest to reach from the city centre. We are following the sea path and , as an Algarve tradition, we’re reaching the beautiful, golden sands from the top. Of course, after that breath taking view, you feel like to go down rapidly and shooting off your sweaty body to the cold turquoise waters. What are you waiting for ? A little foot note that you should keep in your mind; if you are dreaming a silence and serenity, be there early in the morning before you can’t find a single space to put your towel. Be sure; you gonna feel as if you are on the cloud nine.

Praio do Camilo  eger bizim gibi araba kullanmaktan pek haz almayan bir gezginseniz, yuruyerek ulasmasi zor bir plaj fakat taksi secenegi her daim mevcut uzulmeyin sevgili yayalar. E hadi ozaman ne duruyorsunuz cennete giden yol 224 basamaktan geciyor. Fakat dedigim gibi erken kalkan yol alir unutmayin !

Praio do Camilo is another top beach of Lagos for the sun worshipers. If you are not driving a car it’s a little bit hard to reach by foot. But there is always the taxi option that you should think about. So what are you waiting for you have 224 steps to reach your little heaven. And as usual, be there earlier if you don’t want your cute towel kiss the one belong to your neighbour.

Another reason brought us to Lagos was the magical Benagil Cave that we saw in a magazine and we fall in love. Although it’s a little bit complicated for the non-drivers, when you arrive there the magical atmosphere takes all your exhaustion. If you are departing from Lagos and want to reach there in a comfortable way apart from your car, the taxis are always in your service, but it can cost you a fortune. By the way am I talking to a real traveller ? So, let’s turn back to our adventurer habitudes and take a bus as the cheapest public transportation. Here is the schedules and the map! You get it up from Lagos and drop in Carvoeiro. Yes, after that point you need to place yourself fate in the taxi driver and yes, you need him to reach the beach. After you drop the bus probably you gonna have other people waiting for a taxi so you can always join them to share the cost. You arrived to Benagil Beach ; either you can swim to the cave or you can take a boat tour to visit other caves around and end your journey in Benagil Cave. The tours cost around 40 euros per person.

Nasil gidilir?

Eger Lagos’a Lizbon’dan gelecekseniz otobus bilgileri icin tik tik !

Bizim gibi Sagres’ten hareket edecekseniz sizleri yaklasik 45 dakika surecek bir otobus yolculugu icin boyle alalim.

How to reach ?

If you gonna reach Lagos from Lisbon here the time table for the bus!

But if you want to reach there after calm Sagres ,as we did , check the time table for the 45 minutes bus trip.

Nerede kalmali?

Lagos’ a fazla turist aktigindan sehir de onlemini almis haliyle.

Where to stay?

As there are always too many tourists ,during the summer especially, the city takes its precautions. I mean, don’t worry, although you’re the last minute visitors like us, you will always find somewhere to put your head in. But be careful; Lagos is famous with the party hostels, before you make your decision, look at well the informations about the place you gonna stay. Though, us, we were ready to stay anywhere available, we came across with Tag Hostel with full of young people and surfers. It’s just in the centre, the lovely proprietress is really helpful. While we were coming in our room she is kindly warning us ; “here, isn’t a party hostel, please, let’s have a care. ” At that moment Jb and my eyes are speaking – we’re delighted finding our place.

Nerede ne yemeli ?

Oralara kadar gidip A Forja’da geleneksel Portekiz mutfagini tatmadan donmek olmaz. Taze, gunluk deniz urunlerinden olusan menusu, olabildigince makul fiyatlari ve etkin servisiyle Portekiz gezinizin en favori mekanlari arasina gireceginden eminim. (Adres: R. dos Ferreiros 17, 8600-727 Lagos, Portugal)

What to eat where?

Your must go restaurant should be A Forja. A great seafood restaurant with fresh products, efficient staff and reasonable prices. Be sure here will be one of your favourite place of whole Portugal trip. (Address: R. dos Ferreiros 17, 8600-727 Lagos, Portugal)
